Computer Science Showcase at Microsoft NERD Center

Middle school students showcased their Project Lead The Way computer science prototypes to industry professionals at Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge on January 29.
Industry professionals provided authentic feedback to students on their projects, and rated projects to determine showcase winners:
- Overall Showcase winners: Sandwhich STEM Academy
- Innovation winners: Rogers STEM Academy, Lowell
- Programmer’s Pick: Kuss Middle School, Fall River
Over 80 students participated in this event, from five Massachusetts middle schools:
- Collins Middle School, Salem
- Garfield Middle School, Revere
- Kuss Middle School, Fall River
- Leicester Middle School
- Rogers STEM Academy, Lowell
- Sandwich STEM Academy
- Young Achievers School, Boston
Over 40 individuals volunteered their time with students at this event, including industry mentors from:
- Cambridge Office of Workforce Development
- Cogo Labs
- Liberty Mutual
- Microsoft
- Wayfair
