ST Math Resources to Support Students Under 40%
Background
Massachusetts reached an incredible milestone in SY24–25, with a statewide average of 92% ST Math progress, surpassing the ambitious 80% goal.
At the same time, 38,000 students in Massachusetts did not reach 40% progress. This represents an important opportunity for schools to identify barriers, increase access to ST Math, and support more students in building confidence and success in math.

Accessing SendSafely Data
SendSafely folders house secure data files with additional metrics that are not available in the ST Math console. There are two types of files:
- Weekly Files show the overall status of all students in the building as well as a tab to show you what percent of each classroom is meeting the 40 or 60 puzzle goal.
- Monthly Files show students in each grade level that are currently projected to not reach 40% by the end of the year.
Select the link below that corresponds to your district name to access your SendSafely folder:

Tools for Data Analysis
ST Math Champions have shared three data-driven groups for common intervention are:

- ACCESS = students who are not hitting the average recommended 60 min (K-1) or 90 min (2-5) per week.
- ENGAGEMENT = students who are getting the minutes, yet do not have alerts, and still have a low puzzle count.
- SKILL GAP = students who have alerts on their profile, indicating they have had at least 10 tries on a particular level.
Two resources to take your SendSafely file and sort students currently projected under 40% into groups for intervention based on common data patterns and ST Math Champion-tested strategies:
- Google Analyzer tool – a video walkthrough of the tool can be found here.
- AI-Chatbot Analyzer tool
Sharing the Data with Teachers
Making this data meaningful for teachers is key to driving impact.
You can use the following resources to support conversations with grade-level teams:
- PLC Discussion Deck – Facilitate conversations about student progress and strategies for support
- Data Analysis Chatbot – Upload your data and receive support with analysis and teacher-ready talking points
These tools help teams move from data to action, ensuring more students stay on track to reach their ST Math goals.
