Skew The Script
Skew The Script creates relevant, nonpartisan, and standards-aligned high school statistics materials that help students use math to engage more deeply with the world around them.
-
Relevant by design: Lessons challenge students to use real data to tackle real questions — Is college worth the cost? Do social media creators make a livable wage? — connecting standards-aligned math to civic topics that genuinely matter to students.
-
Closing achievement gaps: Born at a Title I school in San Antonio, Skew The Script’s founding teacher redesigned his lessons to better serve his students — and in that first year saw 42% of students pass the AP exam in a region where historically only 2% did. The curriculum has since been built to replicate that success for underserved students everywhere.
-
Built by and for educators: Lessons are classroom-ready and open-source, with teacher notes, strategies, and pedagogical tips to support high-quality implementation.
-
Growing evidence base: In 2025, a Harvard research group found causal evidence that Skew The Script’s AP® Stats curriculum boosted exam pass rates by 5-6 percentage points after one year of implementation and 10-11 percentage points in subsequent years. Read more here.

The SkewU PLC has been the most relevant PD I have ever taken. I have been able to collaborate with teachers from across the state who all teach AP Statistics! How rare is that?! I now have an arsenal of resources and strategies and I now have a great network I can connect with.
