One8 Applied Learning Student Showcase

The registration deadline for this event has passed.

The deadline to register for this event has passed.  Please reach out to Julia Kostro (jkostro@one8.org) with any questions.

Applied Learning inspires learning with the thrill of discovery.  What better way to culminate the year than with a student showcase for Project Lead The Way, OpenSciEd, PBLWorks and ST Math schools in MA for students (grades 5-12) to share their Applied Learning projects with industry professionals. Student teams will each have a table to present their project and 500+ industry professionals will circulate and talk with student groups — offering them verbal and written feedback.

Event Details:

Schools have the chance to bring teams from multiple Applied Learning programs at the showcase. Each school can bring the following number of teams per program. For example, if your school is bringing both PLTW Gateway and OSE teams, you can bring a maximum of 6 teams (3 Gateway and 3 OSE).

  • ST Math (5th grade), PLTW Launch (5th grade): 2 teams per program
  • OSE, PLTW Gateway, PLTW Biomed, PLTW CS, PLTW Eng, PBLWorks: 3 teams per program
  • PLTW Capstone (EDD & BI): unlimited

Info Needed to Register:

Register by April 3rd to secure spots for your student teams at the Showcase. Each school should complete one registration form. Meaning, one person should register on behalf of all of the teams and programs (e.g., OSE, PLTW Gateway) attending from a school. District leaders submitting for multiple schools in their district should fill out one form per school.

In the form, schools will be asked to provide:

  • Contact info for a point person (1 per school)
  • Participating programs (e.g., OSE and PLTW Gateway)
  • Number of teams per program (e.g., 3 for OSE and 3 for PLTW Gateway, so 6 total for the school)
  • Contact info for one chaperone per program (e.g., 1 chaperone for OSE and 1 chaperone for Gateway)
  • Types of projects teams are expected to bring (see list of eligible projects here)
  • A plan for how teams will be selected to participate (see some ideas in the FAQs here).

You will be asked to provide additional information about the teams who will attend the Showcase by April 26th.
